I visited Dave's Indoor Gun & Archery range recently. The options for the Inland Empire are limited, so its easier to overlook the flaws in facility/pricing/staff. It was worth the drive though. I had a decent grouping with the 1911. I kept track of my shots this time. The gun failed to fire 11 out of 91 shots. That's far from ideal. I talked with the gunsmith and it looks like we are going to switch out the main spring and recoil spring for lighter ones. I am hopeful that this will change the gun's reliability. I have now put 700 rounds through this build. It's been enjoyable, but expensive. Shooting .45 ACP is not cheap. I was talking with a competitive shooter this week and he suggested I switch from shooting .45 ACP to shooting .22 LR. I'm not sure how I will afford this conversion, but my next post will explain the conversion option in more detail. Dave's Indoor Gun Range on Yelp |
