My name is Travis Jordan and I am an aspiring competitive shooter.
First and foremost, I am a gun enthusiast who happens to be in the Air Force. Unfortunately, the Air Force does not promote the shooting community as much as other branches. There is less guidance and encouragement to shoot competitively in the Air Force compared to other branches like the Marine Corps. There is a good reason for that, but people looking for more information should not have to spend hours scouring the web.
I am both blogging and providing resources to fill this void. What I will share on this website is useful to members of all branches of the military and aspiring civilian shooters.
This blog, whether it is articles or videos, is designed to pave the way for those interested in competitive shooting. I highly encourage both beginners and experienced shooters to comment and participate in the site. I have spent a lot of time trying to get my foot in the door. I have learned plenty, but I hope to also learn more from the readers of this website.
My main goal is to "leg out" and become a distinguished shooter. One thing is for sure, I can't do it alone. For anyone interested in earning the coveted distinguished or excellence in competition badge, we need mentorship, a support team, and a really knowledgeable gunsmith. Not to mention, we need to learn to shoot like a pro.
I look forward to the evolution of AirForceShooter.com. Please send me an email at Travis@AirForceShooter.com or post in the comment section. I'll see you on the range!
